CAD/CAM - CIM - CNC - DNC M-Tron upgrades and adds additional computers on a regular basis. The computers are, for the most part, top-of-the-line hardware and peripherals. They use UNIX Operating Systems compatible with IGES (International Graphics Exchange System) allowing full CAD/CAM data exchange between computer systems. The company's internal CAD/CAM systems use ESPRIT software allowing transfer of part geometry from CAD drawings on other systems such as AutoCAD's DXF format and other mainframe and minicomputers using the IGES standard. ESPRIT automates shop floor control via file servers to specified machines. M-Tron is expanding the system to full DNC capability via company wide Local Area Networks (LANs).
